Kothaligadh is situated in Shahapur taluka, Karjat district, at a height 3100 ft above sea level. This fort is also known as Kothaligad because of the internally excavated stone masonry that forms a funnel shaped staircase leading to the pinnacle of this mountain top.

History: This fort is very small in size but was used as an ammunition storage and defense station during Sambhaji Maharaj’s era. This fort is surrounded with other forts like Bhimashankar, Rajmachi, Dhak, Sidhhagad and Prabalgad.

  • Board 6: 16 Am Karjat Fast Local  & Reach Karjat 8:10 Am 
  • Proceed to the Base village by Local Transport (25 KM from Karjat Station)
  • Reach Base Village by 9.15am , Breakfast at base village.
  • Start the trek by 10.00 am.
  • Reach Pethechiwadi. Explore the village and interact with its people
  • Spend some time on plateau, splash about in the natural water pools
  • Final Push for the Summit. Reach the top by 12.30pm
  • Lunch , Fort exploration ,Summit Snap  and Start descending by 2pm.
  • Reach Base Village by 5.30pm
  • A Cup of Hot Tea & Pakoras to finish the trek 
  • Reach back to Karjat by 7.00 pm.
  • Board Train back home.
